Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 1, 2026

Last updated: September 7, 2026

Grammar AI Lab ("GAIL," "we," "us," or "our") is operated from Bangkok, Thailand. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, retain, share, and protect personal data when you use our AI-assisted language service, website, and related add-ins (collectively, the "Service").

1. Our Privacy Commitments

We collect and retain only what is reasonably necessary to provide, secure, and support the Service.

We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers for targeted advertising.

Some features may use AI providers whose terms allow model training on submitted content; others explicitly exclude it. See Section 5 for details.

Processing is different from retention, and retention is different from model training.

We apply privacy-by-default principles and additional protections for minors.

2. Information We Collect and Why

Depending on how you interact with the Service, we collect the following categories of information:

Account and Profile Information: Such as your email address, authentication credentials, and session identifiers.

Technical and Device Information: Browser type, device details, and limited IP-derived security signals used to maintain active sessions and protect against unauthorized access.

Usage Data: Information required to enforce plan limits, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot technical issues.

Support Communications: Messages, inquiries, or feedback sent directly to our support team.

User Content: Text, documents, prompts, instructions, and requested outputs that you submit to be processed by the Service.

Legal Basis for Processing: We process your personal data based on the necessity of performing our contract with you (providing the Service), compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in securing and improving the Service, or, where required by applicable law, your explicit consent.

3. How We Use Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

Create, authenticate, and administer user accounts.

Provide requested language processing and AI-assisted features.

Maintain security, prevent abuse, detect fraud, and troubleshoot the Service.

Apply usage limits and manage subscriptions, if offered.

Respond to questions, support requests, and legal obligations.

Improve the Service using aggregated, de-identified, or operational information where legally permitted.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use essential cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to authenticate users, maintain secure active sessions, and remember user preferences. You can control cookie settings through your browser controls, though disabling certain essential technologies may limit your ability to use the Service.

5. AI Processing and Service Providers

We use multiple third-party AI service providers to power different features of the Service. When you submit User Content for an AI-powered feature, we transmit it to one of these providers solely to process your request and generate the requested output.

Whether your content may also be used by that provider to improve or train their models depends on which specific feature you use and which provider and account tier we use at the time:

Training-Enabled Features: For some features, your content may be used by the provider to improve their underlying models. We use these arrangements selectively where the cost or performance trade-off is worthwhile, and we do not apply them to every feature.

Training-Excluded Features: For other features, your content is explicitly excluded from model training under the commercial terms we maintain with that provider.

We do not publicly disclose specific third-party providers or the exact categorization of every feature, as this information is commercially sensitive. If you would like to know whether a specific feature you use falls into the training or non-training category, please contact us directly at the email below. We review these arrangements periodically; if a change affects whether your content may be used for training, we will update the "Last updated" date above.

6. How We Share Information

We may share information with carefully selected service providers that help operate the Service, including hosting and infrastructure providers, authentication and security providers, email delivery providers, payment processors (when applicable), and AI service providers. These third parties may process information only for authorized purposes and under strict contractual or legal data protection obligations. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect the rights, property, or safety of GAIL, our users, or others, or in connection with a lawful corporate restructuring or business transfer.

7. Retention and Deletion

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the data type and system requirements.

You may delete your account and, where available, stored conversations or content directly through your account controls. Deletion from active systems may be followed by scheduled removal from backups and downstream systems in accordance with our standard data retention and backup cycles. Some information may be retained for a limited period for security auditing, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Subject to applicable data protection laws (such as the PDPA or GDPR), you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.

Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

Delete or request the erasure of your personal data.

Obtain a copy of your data in a portable format.

Restrict or Object to certain processing activities.

Withdraw Consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

You may manage your available account data, active sessions, and deletion choices directly within the Service. For other privacy rights requests, please contact us at grammarailab@gmail.com. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days (or as otherwise required by applicable law). We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

9. Children and Minors

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the Service. GAIL’s 13+ rule is our minimum account age; local laws may impose a higher age requirement, require parental consent, or mandate additional protections. We do not knowingly permit self-service accounts for individuals under 13. If we discover that an account fails to meet applicable eligibility requirements, we will promptly suspend or delete it and take appropriate steps to protect the user's information.

10. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational security measures designed to protect information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access. These include encrypted data transport (TLS/SSL), access controls, and secure credential management. However, no electronic transmission or storage system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for using a strong, unique password and protecting your account credentials.

11. International Data Transfers

Our infrastructure and service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence, including jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws. Where applicable, we implement appropriate safeguards or rely on lawful transfer mechanisms to ensure your personal data remains protected.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or the Service. When we update the policy, we will revise the "Effective date" and "Last updated" dates at the top of this page and provide additional notice if required by law.
